LARSON’S GARDEN CENTER 100 Years and Still Growing…

From Lydia Larson’s ironing board in 1919 to today’s Larson’s Garden Center in 2019

Larson’s Farm Rt 6 Back in the day

Larson’s Farm was a familiar sight on Rt 6 Bristol, CT for nearly 90 years. A produce stand that started on an ironing board which had its origin long before highways were numbered.  Larson’s has changed over the years as does anything that grows.  The legacy began on Rt 6, 1379 Farmington Avenue, Bristol, CT by Lydia Larson.  It was a place that Lydia dreamed about, far from her native home of Sweden.  It was a place where they could work the land and provide for her large family (12 children). She dreamed of fresh fruits and vegetables and maybe a barn with a root cellar! Little did she know that she would be starting a business that would still be growing strong a 100 years later by her Great-Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Larson.  READ MORE…

Larson's Garden Center

Larson's is a 100 year old business that has been given a fresh start. Kaitlyn Larson, the 4th generation, has picked up the family tradition 10 years (2009) ago, and is making it her own. With her vibrant colors and spunky spirit she is carving a new direction for her garden center. Kaitlyn is focused on giving the customers what they want and need in a fun and exciting way.
